Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on digital prescription software more of an EMR system actually. Think of something like Zilsoft, but with more features, more flexibility, and built completely from the ground up.

It's a massive, long-term project that might take years to complete, as I am also on a tight schedule — but my ultimate goal is to release it 100% free (essentially freeware / a "buy me a coffee" model ☕). You'll be able to run it locally on your machine or deploy it on your personal website.

I actually want to build a tool that bridges our chamber needs with world-class medical standards and ethical values. Here are a few things I'm thinking of integrating:

  • Mandatory generic names (Alongside brand names), ICD-11 for diagnoses (Dx), and SNOMED for chief complaints. and a follow-up dashboard, you will set a date for every patient and they will appear here and ur assistant will call the patient about the treatment and write down the result or rating here. This might allow you to use your data for drug efficacy or any research.
  • A separate assistant interface for appointments and initial vital entries like Weight, Height, BP. There will intentionally be a few blank slots open at first so you can consult a colleague, medical student, emergency patient, or family member out of serial, without disrupting the regular queue or breaking the serial-based contract of your waiting patients. Consulting a fellow colleague first is better according to my philosophy, as it enables them to go back to their duty earlier and treat more patients.
  • An automated interface for a digital display board outside your chamber (You can just use a HDMI cable and a TV for that), keeping patients updated on the current serial in real-time. I have attached a mockup of the digital board. Everything will be more transparent to the patient. you can take a 5 min break, it will also show, doctor is on a break, please wait.
  • AI Analyzer, A built-in module where you can plug in your Gemini or OpenAI API. It will allow you to upload C/C, age, sex, history, any examination findings, and reports (by retracting patient details for privacy), then it will analyze them to get probable DDs, and you can also chat with the AI to discuss the case or treatment.
  • WhatsApp & Direct SMS Integration: You can send soft copies of prescriptions or notices directly to a patient's WhatsApp (it will probably require a Meta plan). You can also integrate your own SMS gateway (like BulkSMSBD or Khudebarta) for Masked SMS, so texts arrive under your name (e.g., "Dr. Abrar") rather than a random number. While getting a Masked ID requires some initial paperwork, it will add a layer of authenticity and authority. Also, buying SMS bundles directly from the provider completely bypasses the massive per-SMS fee that current prescription software charges. I am not sure about the integration but I will try to do it.
  • A multidoctor system, if you plan to run it on a small clinic (Allowing doctor sharing data between each other or isolating patients completely but with a central registration system)
  • A barcode reader system and also NFC Health registration card system, by taking a nfc card initially with a minimal fee will enable a default discount to the card holders. (I just have this thought, but still dont know how it is done or it is yet possible or not)

Why do I want this?

Honestly, I just want to contribute to the health system of our country. As a DMC student, I see the daily suffering and endless hassles patients go through here. I want to see a day when simply being human is enough to guarantee access to medical treatment — no hassle, no economic burden. We unfortunately see too much professional ignorance, medical negligence, and malpractice in daily practice. I want to build a tool that helps fix these issues and raise our standards, even if just in a small way.
